Dearest Daddy,

    We thought we wouldn't have to be writing any more letters but couldn't let Father's Day go by.  I snagged as many of the kids as I could to write you a note.  The others will be thinking of  you to be sure. 
    Leland is taking over the troop so you can relax on that score.  Granny is here to go to the wedding with me so I won't have to go alone.  I'm going to wash dishes at the spaghetti dinner tonight (benefits Scout Building fund) - wish you could help me out there.
    The roses are just gorgeous - they are a real deep red - 13 of them.  I am enjoying them.  If they are still pretty tomorrow I may take them to the reception.  We'll celebrate our anniversary and Father's Day on the 4th of July.
    Are you running out of shirts?  I have ironed the rest of your shirts and can send them to you if you need them. 
    Try to enjoy yourself as much as you can.  This is a very important case and must be interesting in all its ramifications.  We are managing at this end.  The children are busy and happy.  I have decided not to go to summer schoool this year.  My family needs me in the summer to chauffeur and think up things to do.  My house needs me too, but I can't seem to get to it. 
    Rick is building sets for "The King and I" - oh - I haven't told you the sensational news of the week.  Serge and Joan Huff have twin girls.  Everybody in town is thrilled about it.  They are doing fine.  I'll be thrilled when  you get home.
