Dear Daughter,
I write to inform you that your boy [Conover] has now in this district of the frozen north a brand new uncle born at precisely 4 of the clock this afternoon. Your mother is now resting easy and prospects to be much better than we thought since she was so poorly all winter. The weather is simply terrific. The snow is several feet deep and the blizzard which is still raging, blinds and baffles description. Young ladies had a Grand Character Ball last night. But the wind...

...and snow was so furious that it was with great dificulty that some got home at all. Sister Ipsen has been here all day pretty much but has just gone over to Ams. Stell is up to her fathers and is not at all likely to come home or even by it till the fury of the storm is somewhat abated. I had to trust entirely to the horses to take me through as it was simply impossible to see. Even a few rods before me. Had it not been that they were raised here and been tried many times before I know not what would have become of your poor mother [?] She was delivered at once under the ordinance...

...of the gospel ordained for the purpose and before I could take my hands off her head. Her boy [Arunah Caesar Wright] is simply a modern Hercules and she has seen many things about him and that will now shortly appear that is unsurpassed and unprecedented. The children are all besides themselves with admiration and delight. So much for the twenty-second child of your steady going old father that still seems to be on deck when it comes to actual service.
I have just been thinking a little. I have had 1 Danish mother, many brothers and sisters of the same nationality - 2 Danish counselors in the priesthood...

...1 Danish son-in-law, 1 Danish daughter-in-law, and now Nett has had a Danish brother here for 3 nights past, him Preston Peterson by name. She says that he is rich and loves her hugely unto her supreme affections and reciprocation. Not ony this but from as I have told you before still seems to be [? ?] so that if Jackson County was Copenhagen instead of the Center Stake, Denmark would no doubt be the ? home of the Wright Family.
Hay has gone up to a fabulous price. We have a Brass Band now organized. Charley Cullis' only boy baby died last week. Bro Athy of Paris died about the same time. Rio Hart...

...is very low - I received a letter from my Bro. by Brigham City. He wants me to come to join in the temple work for our dead. Of course I can't go just now - Your Aunt Ide has another baby. I had another great grandchild born day before yesterday which makes 5 Wright descendants this winter. I married Bro [?'s] daughter Mary to a fellow by the name of Buckly lst week. Gus Johnson of [Pet?] is going to marry Ruth [?] He hies there at [?] almost all the time. I have not time to say much. Have been wallowing in the snow all day and am wet clear up to the posterior of my overalls.
As ever your affectionate father,
A. R. Wright
